The first hybrid CSP-biomass plant using LUCEFP, the Fresnel collector by CSP-F, is in operation. Small-sized, produces 24/7 all year round

Zasoli, the CSP-biomass CHP plant, with its 200 kWel produces 100% renewable electric power, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year round. It’s the best answer to the need of continuous dispatchability, ideal for all those regions that are sufficiently exposed to sun and morphologically comparable to Italian territories. In fact, Zasoli doesn’t need any storage system and allows a controlled consumption of biomass, thanks to the solar field’s contribution.

The solar surface of the concentrating solar collector designed by CSP-F amounts to 2,250 m2 and produces high-pressure steam (35 bar) that integrates the steam produced at the same pressure by the biomass boiler.

Each year, the plant will distribute 1,400 MWh of clean power (80% from biomass and 20% from sun), with a production capacity of more than 8,000 hours.
